1.Problems in area
· Wednesday mornings beggars scrathing in the bins.
· Strangers roaming in the streets
· Problem Times from 09H00 onwards
· Klampenborg street –vehicles park there weekends not from our area
· Two houses in the area marked as problem houses where there is suspected drug dealing.
· Parents to watch out for children playing in kids park adjacent to Klampenborg street
· Most break-ins occur during the day and according to Mr Thyssen they suspect it is not perpetrators from our area.
· A white vehicle was identified as a possible get away car.
2.Solutions discussed
· To chase away the beggars scratching in bins-for thieves disguise themselves as beggers and move with them to check out property.
· Especially take note of the clothing they wear.
· Mr Thyssen to arrange for frequent police patrol.
· The residents at home during the day to keep a watch out for strangers walking around.
· To post any suspicious movement or characters roaming the streets on our Whatsapp page so make everyone aware to be on the look out.
· If possible for residents to not leave your vehicle parked in your driveway at night.
· Question strangers.
· Change your pattern like for example in the morning when you leave your home.
· Consider to become members of the HCW(Helderberg Crime Watch) for R120 per month per family for regular patrol.
· To raise funds for suveillance cameras especially at the two entrances.
· To start a Neighbourhood Watch-training can be provided.
· Ritma involved with neighbourhood watch residing in third phase of Victoria Park proposed that we join them –she made contact with the Somerset West Police Forum and they organizing a Free neighbourhood watch course on the 24 August venue to be confirmed.The course will provide vital information on how to act if you are confronted with a intruder and to report it to the police.
Next meeting to take place on the 26 August 2013 venue to be confirmed via Whatsapp.
Meeting ended 21h30 and next paln of action is the Neighbourhood Watch Course the 24 August 2013.
